LOCATION

Number 68 is only 100 metres away from spectacular sandy beaches and clifftop coastal paths; turn right for an easy 2 mile walk to Ramsgate with its stunning regency architecture, royal harbour and  growing harbourside cafe society.  Turn left for the longer route to Margate taking in beautiful coastal views en route.    A five minute walk will take you to Broadstairs town centre, where you will find ice cream parlours, boutiques, restaurants and bars.  If you need retail therapy, Westwood Cross shopping centre is only 2 miles away.

The  28 mile circular Viking Coastal Trail offers cyclists an opportunity to explore one of the most attractive leisure cycle routes in Kent.

If you are looking for a day out there are many choices – the beautifully preserved medieval town of Sandwich (7 miles); the spectacular cathedral city of Canterbury (20 miles); Deal, with its quaint fishermans cottages and interesting boutiques (9 miles).  The more adventurous traveller could even take a trip to France via “Le tunnel” from Folkestone!   All these towns can be reached by train from Broadstairs and Ramsgate rail stations. 

GETTING TO BROADSTAIRS:

By Rail:  London St Pancras to Broadstairs 82 minutes via the High Speed Rail link. Southeastern trains from London Victoria, Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East to Broadstairs station (1 mile from B & B) or Ramsgate station (2.5 miles from B & B).  A regular “Loop” bus service runs from Ramsgate station to Broadstairs.

By Bus:  Regular National Express coach service from London Victoria to Broadstairs

By Car:  M2 motorway leads directly onto the A299 Thanet Way – follow signs to Ramsgate and Broadstairs. 

Parking:  On-road parking is available in West Cliff Rd and the surrounding neighbourhood at no cost.   During the summer months finding a parking space outside the B & B can be  difficult.  We recommend that, if possible, you use public transport during peak season.
